- In July 2025, the prices that businesses charge for goods and services went up by 0.9%, which is a bigger jump than in June when prices didn’t change. Over the past year, these prices rose 3.3%, the biggest increase since February 2025. Most of the rise came from services like trade and equipment sales, which went up 1.1%, and goods like food, which increased 0.7%. For example, fresh vegetables got much more expensive, jumping nearly 39%, and diesel fuel prices also rose a lot. These price increases mean that businesses are paying more for things they buy and sell, which can lead to higher costs for everyday items and may affect jobs if companies adjust their spending. This matters because when prices rise, it can make it harder for families to afford things, and it shows how the economy is changing right now. Read full document →

- This study looked at how Americans feel about President Donald Trump and some of his big ideas, like new taxes and trade rules called tariffs. They asked 3,554 adults in August 2025. Only 38% of people said they approve of how Trump is doing his job, while 60% disapprove. More than half (53%) think Trump is making the government work worse, and only 27% think he is making it better. Republicans mostly like Trump’s work, with 93% approval from strong Republicans, but fewer regular Republicans and independent voters approve now compared to before. Many fewer people think Trump cares about regular people (37%) or is a good example (29%) than before. People trust him most to handle trade (47%) and immigration (46%), but less on health care (38%) and foreign policy (43%). Most people (70%) do not like how his team handled information about the Jeffrey Epstein case, and many do not trust what the administration says about it. These results show that many Americans are unhappy with Trump’s leadership and policies, which can affect how well the government works and how people feel about their country’s future.
